Copying my comment from r/dune:
Honestly I think this might help Dune get more mainstream audience attention than a theatrical exclusive release. A lot of people were concerned that it would be too dense and heady for moviegoers, so a home viewing might make that easier to digest for many people. I’m still seeing it opening night in IMAX, but I’m gonna try to stay optimistic.
